PRODUCT ORIGIN:

The Les Aromates de Provence producers and pickers are all located in the Provence Alpes and Côtes d’Azur and Drôme Provençale regions. They grow aromatic plants with unique flavours under the Provence sun. These plants are rich in essential oil, giving them authentic taste and aromas.

PRODUCT FEATURES:

Originally from India, basil has been grown in the Mediterranean region since the Middle Ages. The Romans considered it an aphrodisiac. It is an aromatic, herbaceous plant. Very widespread in all temperate regions. Reaches about thirty centimetres in height. Green, oval leaves. Enjoyed in the southern cuisine

The selected BASIL is perfectly blended and offers exceptional quality. Only the prime parts of the plant are offered.

PERFECT MATCH:

These lemon and pepper flavours combined with its bitterness make it the ideal companion to garlic for the famous Provençal pesto soup if you don’t have fresh basil. This basil will be a perfect accompaniment to all your tomato, vegetable, pasta and gratin dishes. The aromatic palette of this basil goes perfectly with southern dishes.

PROCESSING:

Each batch of basil is first dried at the producer’s premises, then sent to the cooperative and cleaned in 2 or 3 steps on a sorter-separator to achieve the desired quality. So this basil is processed and prepared in Trets at the foot of Sainte-Victoire mountain.

    The recipe for this Herbes de Provence blend has been designed to yield a perfect aromatic balance of the 4 plants used in it.

    Dried and sorted oregano from France - Provence

    Oregano (Origanum vulgare)
    Oregano is a perennial low-growing shrub. It is a highly branched plant with stems reaching from 50 cm up to 1 m high, covered with silky hairs giving them a fluffy appearance. The dark green, oval or elliptical, pointed leaves are covered with hairs secreting essence on their underside, giving off a characteristic scent at the slightest touch.
