Our producers have mastered ancestral methods which guarantee you the best aromatics from Provence. Our plants, such as this basil, are grown in the south of France and processed at the foot of the Sainte-Victoire mountain near Aix-en-Provence.

Characteristics of our basil

VARIETY : basil (Ocimum basilicum) Grand Vert variety. Originally from India, basil has been cultivated since the Middle Ages in the Mediterranean region. The Romans considered it an aphrodisiac. This aromatic and herbaceous plant is very widespread in all temperate zones and can reach around thirty centimeters in height. Its green and oval leaves are really appreciated in southern cuisine.

COLOR : from olive green to deep green color.

OUR PRODUCT : selected for their exceptional qualities and their perfect homogeneity, only the noble parts of the plant make up the final product. Each batch of basil is previously dried by the producers, then sent to the cooperative and cleaned in 2 or 3 steps on a sorter-separator depending on the desired quality.

MDD : 36 months from packaging date.

 

Basil perfect pairings

The lemony and peppery flavors as well as the bitterness of basil make it the ideal companion to garlic for the famous Provençal pistou soup. This basil will go wonderfully with all your tomato, vegetable, pasta, gratin dishes... The aromatic palette of our basil suits perfectly with southern cuisine.
